Keith & Kristyn Getty
Keith and Kristyn Getty are GRAMMY-nominated artists, hymnwriters, and the founders of Getty Music, a family of global music companies stewarding their vision for music and hymnody.
Christianity Today describes the Gettys as “preeminent” hymnwriters who have “changed the way evangelicals worship.” Their hymn “In Christ Alone,” was a genre-defining work that has received accolades including being named the second- and third-most popular hymn of all time in surveys conducted by BBC Songs of Praise over the past two decades. Their whole catalog, which uniquely crosses contemporary, traditional, and global music genres, includes more than 50 of the top 500 songs sung in U.S. and U.K. churches, and is estimated to be sung by over 100 million people each year in a wide variety of worship settings. They are the recipients of numerous awards and honors, including Keith being awarded the Order of the British Empire (OBE).
Originally from Northern Ireland and now based between Nashville and the North Coast of Ireland, the Gettys’ work has taken them from leading worship in their local church to sold-out concerts in venues including Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, the Grand Ole Opry House, the Ryman Auditorium, London’s Royal Albert Hall, the Sydney Opera House, and arenas on three continents. As global ambassadors for hymns, they have performed for presidents and prime ministers around the world and been the focus of television specials on PBS, CBS, BBC, and TBN. Along they way they have earned a GRAMMY nomination, a #1 mainstream Billboard album, multiple GMA Dove Awards, three honorary doctorates, honorary fellowship of the Royal School of Church Music, and civic honors from the Freedom of Lisburn and Castlereagh to the OBE.
The Getty Music organization includes a publishing company, record label, touring company, foundation, and the Sing! Organization. Their annual Sing! Conference gathers around 10,000 pastors, leaders, artists, and musicians from around the world to deepen their understanding and practice of biblical worship, and reaches tens of thousands more through global streams available in 11 languages. In partnership with Crossway, they spearheaded The Sing! Hymnal, which curates classic and modern hymns to serve individuals, families, and churches for generations.
At the heart of their work is home and church. They write with an ear for what congregations can sing on Sundays and families can sing around the dinner table, often including their four daughters in their music and performances.
